BLOG

Hello to those returning to view this blog!!! It’s been a really insightful first month and I feel like I’ve already learned a lot (mainly just…a lot of troubleshooting hehe). I know this may be silly, but thank you for 1000 views! I didn’t think anyone would really take the time to pop in to see what this site has to offer (which isn’t much admittedly, but I hope to change that soon)! So, thank you, seriously :’D

Speaking of site stuff, I’ve made the decision to stop the ACNL blog. I realized really quickly that I really underestimated how much work goes into blogs like that!!! Sadly, I don’t have the time for a time-intensive blog like this along with working on site features I’ve wanted to develop (like the about page, character analyses, and artwork).

And as much as I had fun cataloging the first three weeks of the town, I also realized that the blog focused more on Animal Crossing rather than Ryoma himself. But I decided to dedicate a small portion of these blog posts to talk about any town updates (and share any custom designs I may have made)! For now, I’ll leave the main page up while I try to figure out how I should archive it :P

(Psst, here’s some of the doodles I’ve done for the entry I ended up scrapping)

Anyways, I finally have a permanent place of residence!!! I’ve been moving around every few months for the past year and it’s gotten really tedious to pack up and re-display my collection. I’m just glad this is going to be the last big move for a long while XD

I’ve been torn at how I’d like to display my collection, though… I realized that having a lot of smaller displays of my collection in my space makes me the happiest, however it’s a lot more difficult to hide whenever I have company over (as much as I hate to admit it, I’m a bit self-conscious about my collection lol).

I’ve been wondering if having a designated shelf would be a good idea? Or maybe keeping my collection strictly in my office?? I’m still on the fence and I’m still scrolling through Pinterest to get inspiration lol.

Future posts won’t be focusing on life stuff as much, since I’d much rather focus on Ryoma, but this month I’ve been a bit scatter-brained when it came to my projects hehe…Though I actually have a list of topics I want to focus on in the future:

  • Why Ryoma is my Favorite Character (ever)
  • V3 Character Relationship Analysis
  • Making a Ryoma Playlist (with song analysis)
  • Ryoma's DRS Interaction Breakdown/Analysis
  • My Ryoma Headcanons
  • Ryoma's Character Design Analysis
  • Ryoma's Design Semiotics and "Ryo-isms" in Other Characters
  • Ryoma Hoshi and Ekubo: The Surprising Similarities
  • Ryoma Hoshi and Prince of Tennis (and other inspirations)
  • Grinding DRS to Get All Ryoma Units
  • Ryoma Themed Tea Blends Review
  • Ryoma Hoshi in ____ (basically shoving Ryoma in shows/anime I like because why not lol)
  • Yes, these do sound like the ramblings of a mad man, but I’m happy to be mad, man! If any of these ideas interest you or if you have a topic that you’re interested in hearing about feel free to sign my guestbook and let me know!

In the meantime, I’m still going to be working on my main character analysis for the about page. I want to make sure that it’s polished as much as possible before I publish it (also because I may or may not be replaying V3 to make sure I get everything right…). So, stay tuned!

Thank you again for reading through this silly little blog post. I’ll see you next time!

FIRST BLOG POST WAAAA!!!!! This is so exciting!!! I have to admit, it's also a little scary, since so many shrine sites are done by people with vast amounts of coding and html skill (AND JUST...THE MAJORITY OF THE SITES ON NEOCITIES!!!! THE TALENT AND SKILL IS SO AMAZING TO SEE WAAA). I can't help but feel a little silly, since this site is held together by popsicle sticks at best XD

Though, I think for what it is, it works! All I really want with this site is too show my Ryoma merch and art while also talking about him via these blog posts! I don't really talk to anyone about my interests in general, so I wanted an outlet to talk about all the stuff I've been thinking about. If I kept it in for longer I think my head would explode!!! I'm also just a fan of the old web as well and hate hate haaate social media. It's really nice to have a little corner just for me and what makes me happy, you know? While writing this blog post, with the site almost 'complete' I kinda got the feeling of returning home after a trip: that 'oh my gosh I can finally just relax' feeling.

Initially, this was a small page on the hosting site waifu.ist that I created on a whim when I was reaaally depressed and had nothing to do. I was horrifible at coding (even more than I already am) so the site was suuuper bare-bones XD I really wanted to expand it for the past few years but just didn't have the time due to school and work (the same goes for drawing art! it stinks not having the time to draw what i want all the time anymore...). Buuut now that the semester is over I decided to really dedicate the time to polish it and make it into what I want! In the future, it would be nice to polish it up, but for what it is I'm happy with it :D

So, onto the meat of the blog post!!!!! For this super special first entry, I'm going to go over the merch I had recieved for the month of June! I don't usually buy merch in bulk each month, I usually do small packages 2-3 months at a time, but since my birthday is in late June I decided to go wild with it!

First, I wanna show off one of the non-Ryoma items I got!

WHAT. IS THIS. When I first saw this shirt I screamed because who would wear this in public?? Why was this made?? WHY IS THIS OFFICIAL MERCH (IT HAS THE V3 LOGO ON THE TAG AND EVERYTHING). I usually never get other Danganronpa merch but I just had to have this shirt. It looks like what your uncle would wear in 2013 while drinking a limited edition Mountain Dew, and you know what? It's a cool vibe to have so now I will be wearing this shirt 24/7.

More stuff from the Sanrio collab!!! Seriously, the Sanrio collab set of merch is so good!!!!! When the first look at the V3 set was released, I was sad that Ryoma wasn't paired with any of Sanrio's cat mascots BUT I think hangyodon is a really good fit (especially when researching into the personality that he had been given!). Anyways, I'm always happy to have more DRxSanrio merch ♡

Some of the keychains I got, plus another one of the school logo pins! I love the school logo pins, they're such a subtle way to represent your favorite character. I'm also always happy to have more of the heart keys!!! I think it's such a clever piece of merch, and I love that merch series so much (and it's much less scarce than the heart-shaped buttons of the cast)!

Acrylic stands! The ones I got this time were really good finds. In the future, I would love more of the Ryoma x Hangyodon parade standees (have a Ryoma parade!). The holiday acrylic stand is also a really good find, this year I'd like to decorate another mini Christmas tree with some of my themed Ryoma merch :)

Some other goods! Coasters, postcards, and another ID card! Like I previously said, the Sanrio collab is one of my favorites so having more of the postcards is really cool!

I also decided to get some excerpts from the NDRV3 Settei shiryōshū (Setting/Creation Materials) book! These are seriously so cool to own! Maybe someday I'll actually buy the whole book but these are nice to have for now :P

And finally, the thing I was looking forward to the most...AN OFFICIAL RYOMA HAT AAA I already have a fan-made hat (which I still love) but I couldn't help myself ♡♡♡ The embroidered logo is SO COOOL WAAAA...

So that's it from this package!!! It may not have had a large quantity of items, but the caliber of items was really good!!! Ahhh I'm still really nervous to post the 'finished' site, since there's still so much I need to polish (and the numerous spelling errors), but I wanted to get this out on Ryoma's birthday! Nevertheless I'm really happy with how all this turned out and I'm eager to post more here. I'm planning on updating this blog at the very least monthly, to yap all about Ryoma as well as show off any merch I may have gotten. Thank you so much if you read this through or just was poking around!!! See you next time :D
